Reports have shown that so called flushable wipes have backed up in sewer systems around the world causing sewer overflows, clogs at lift stations and treatment plants. Imagine what they are doing to the old pipes of Longboat Harbour.
Flushable wipes take a lot longer to break down in comparison to toilet paper. While they sit in pipes without breaking down, they collect anything else running through the pipe and end up clogging the pipe.
Please make sure you, your renters or visitors are aware that these wipes can seriously damage our pipes and cause major damage to our neighbors. Make sure ONLY toilet paper is flushed down your toilets. We have spent a lot of money unclogging pipes after our neighbors have had backups into their units.
